HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-921 10-24-1995RESOLUTION NO. 95 -921 A RESOLUTION TO REPLACE RESOLUTION NO. 92- 793, TO REMOVE LIMIT OF NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON THE HISTORICAL PRESERVATION COMMITTEE WHEREAS, Resolution No. 92 -793, established the Historical Preservation Committee to provide the City Council with pertinent advice and information needed in historical matters in the City of Euless; and WHEREAS, Paragraph B of Resolution No. 92 -793, limited the Historical Preservation Committee to ten members appointed by the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Euless to remove the limit on number of members of the Historical Preservation Committee; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Euless, Tarrant County, Texas, that this resolution hereby replaces Resolution No. 92 -793. The City of Euless hereby establishes an Historical Preservation Committee to provide the City Council with pertinent advice and information needed in historical matters in the City of Euless. A. DUTIES 1. Reviewing and recommending rules and regulations for maintaining and preserving the historical matters of the City of Euless; 2. Establishing and encouraging the public participation in historical organizations; 3. Documenting and preserving the physical, verbal and ethnic heritage of the City of Euless; 4. Performing such other duties as might be assigned by the City Council. B. MEMBERSHIP Members of the Historical Preservation Committee shall be appointed by the City Council and shall serve such terms as approved by the City Council. C. OFFICERS The Chairman and Vice Chairman shall be appointed by the Euless City Council. A Secretary shall be appointed by the committee to record the minutes and attendance of the committee. The signed original copy of the minutes is to be delivered to the office of the City Secretary for permanent filing. D. MEETING DATES The committee shall meet as often as necessary. The Chairman may call a meeting when the business before the committee requires. E. QUORUM A quorum shall consist of a clear majority of the committee membership. F. AGENDA An agenda shall be prepared and posted, as prescribed in the City of Euless Boards and Commissions Handbook, by the committee secretary for each meeting of the committee. APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 24th day of October, 1995, by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
