AUTHORIZING CITY OF EULESS PARTICIPATION IN THE
STATE OF TEXAS ALTERNATIVE FUELS PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Denton Counties have been designated by the
Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 as an ozone nonattainment area, and thus qualifies
for the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) improvement program funds; and
WHEREAS, a program of converting new and existing vehicles from conventional fuels
to alternative fuels desired, to be hereinafter identified as the " Alternative Fuels
Program"; and
WHEREAS, the North Central Texas Council of Governments has submitted the
Alternative Fuels Program through the Texas Natural Resource Conservation
Commission to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the incorporation in the
State implementation plan to assist in the reduction of ozone - forming mobile emissions;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Euless desires to enter into
this agreement with the State of Texas to revise the funding completetion date for fiscal
year 1995 until October 31, 1996, and to establish the parties' obligations and
responsibilities associated with the Alternative Fuels Program and hereby authorizes
the Mayor to sign said agreement;
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the nth day of
December , 1995, by a vote of 7 ayes, o nays, and 0 abstentions.
