HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-928 12-12-1995RESOLUTION NO. 95 -928 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING PRESIDING ELECTION JUDGES AND ALTERNATES FOR THE JANUARY 20, 1996 ELECTION FOR THE SUBMISSION OF A PROPOSITION PERTAINING TO A ONE - QUARTER CENT SALES AND USE TAX WITHIN THE CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF REDUCING THE PROPERTY TAX RATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless by Ordinance No. 1193 has called an election pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 321 of the Texas Tax Code, also known as the Municipal Sales and Use Tax Act (the "Act ") for the purpose of submitting a proposition pertaining to the levy and collection of an additional sales and use tax within the City for the purpose of reducing the property tax rate; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1 The following named persons are hereby appointed officers for said election at the following named polling places: Midway Park Recreation Center Presiding Election Judge Barbara Girouard Altemate Presiding Judge Delilah Murray Bear Creek Elementary School Presiding Election Judge Kim Collins Altemate Presiding Judge Martha Burleson Early Voting Ballot Board Presiding Judge Martha Burleson Clerks for the election shall be appointed by the Presiding Judge for each polling place in a number not to exceed ten clerks at each polling place. The Early Voting Ballot Board shall appoint two other members to the Early Voting Ballot Board. All appointments shall be in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Texas Election Code. The Mayor shall appoint any substitute judges, if necessary. Election judges and clerks shall be compensated for services rendered at a precinct polling place at an hourly rate of $6 per hour. APPROVED at a Regular Meeting of the Euless City Council on the 12th day of December, 1995, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays and 0 abstensions.
