HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-03-25ON Called Meeting Euless City Council March 25, 1958 The City Council of Euless met in a special session on March 25, 1958, at 7:00 p.m. With Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr., presiding, other members present were Councilmen J. S. Anderson, S. H. Cadenhead, Paul Horton and W. 0. Murray. The express purpose of the meeting was to discuss further the financing and purchase of a new fire truck. Present by request of the Mayor and representing the f i r e department were F i r e Chief A. B. G i l l , and other members of the fire department Albert Tillery, Bobby Fuller and Harold Richards. Guests of the Council were Messrs. Paul Matthews and Billy Owens of Midway Park. Councilman Anderson offered a motion, seconded by Councilman Murray, moving that Resolution No. 1 5 , delegating f u l l authority to the Commissioners' Court of Tarrant County, Texas, to acquire right -of -ways for building highways and thoroughfares within the City limits of Euless, Texas, be approved and adopted by the City Council. The motion was adopted by a vote of three for and one councilman not voting. Mr. Jimmy Payton, representing Bob Cooke Ford Dealer of Arlington, proposed to sell the City a 1958 truck as had been approved by the fire department for a cash consideration of $6,075.49, delivery to be made within 4 to 5 weeks. For lack of legal information and advice, the meeting was adjourned without any action being taken on the Bob Cooke proposal. However, a follow -up meeting was called by Mayor Millican for March 27th, to give the proposal further study. Attest : /s/ Thos. A.
