SUPPORTING THE SUBMISSION OF A PROJECT NOMINATION FORM TO
THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO RECEIVE PROJECT
FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF
PEDESTRIAN FACILITIES AND LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS ALONG
S.H. 10 FROM WEST OF F.M. 157 TO RAIDER DRIVE AND ASSURING
THAT THE CITY OF EULESS WILL COMPLY WITH THE LOCAL MATCH
PROVISIONS AND FISCAL REPORTING REQUIREMENTS OF THE
STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the United States of America, through its passage of the
Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 (ISTEA), has provided project design
and construction funding for the development of transportation related activities including
pedestrian facilities and landscaping programs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless supports the development of pedestrian, landscaping and
advertising improvements capable of providing functional transportation opportunities along and
aesthetical enhancement to roadway corridors for its current and future residents, as well as those
of its neighboring Cities; and
WHEREAS, the Euless City Council has adopted a Texas Highway 10 Zoning District
which supports enhancement and redevelopment along the S.H. 10 corridor; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless will comply with the local match provisions of the funding
assistance and the fiscal reporting requirements of the U.S. Department of Transportation, the
Texas Transportation Commission, and the Texas Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless desires having its nominated project considered for
enhancement funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Euless City Council supports the
submission of a project nomination form for funding assistance through the Statewide
Transportation Enhancement Program for development of pedestrian facilities and landscaping
improvements along S.H. 10 from west of F.M. 157 to Raider Drive.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless,
