Bystander injured when suspect crashes during
Euless police pursuit, officials say

A man was injured Sunday night after a suspect fled from Euless police and crashed
into a car near Interstate 35W in Fort Worth, police say. The suspect was arrested and
faces charges.
A bystander was injured Sunday night when a suspect fled from Euless p olice and
crashed into a car near Interstate 35W in Fort Worth, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Texas 121 shortly before 10:30 p.m. on a
domestic disturbance call. A woman told them her ex-boyfriend was drunk and was
trying to keep her from getting out of his vehicle, police said.
The woman successfully exited the vehicle, and officers attempted to contact the man.
The suspect fled the scene in his Jeep Grand Cherokee, with the officers in pursuit,
officials said.
The suspect drove recklessly and without headlights during the chase, according to
police. He eventually crashed into a car after he ran a red light at Morningside Drive and
the I-35W service road.
A 28-year-old male passenger of the car that was struck was taken to John Peter Smith
Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, officials said.
According to police, the Jeep’s driver was arrested and faces charges of evading
arrest/detention with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury, possession of a contro lled
substance and intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.
Tarrant County Jail records identify the suspect as 22 -year-old Hoemro Gomez Gauna.
He was released on bond on Tuesday.

Pipeline Road Update
Heads up, drivers! The City of Euless is starting the reconstruction of Pipeline Road on
Monday, August 26. Crews will be starting at the Raider Drive intersection in Euless,
and traffic will be reduced to a single lane in both directions, which will ca use traffic
delays.
The contractor has 16 months to complete this project, but the final product will be a

Two cars collided on Tuesday morning on West Euless Boulevard near Highway 183 in
Euless.
The driver of one car died at the scene.
The second driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to
survive.
EULESS, Texas - One person was killed, and another was seriously injured in a crash
in Euless on Tuesday morning.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of West Euless Boulevard and Dickey
Drive, near Highway 183.
Police said two vehicles collided in the intersection.
The driver of one vehicle died in the crash. The second driver was rushed to the
hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Traffic was backed up on Hwy. 183 and West Euless Boulevard for several hours
because of the accident.
The cause is still under investigation.
