HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-04-04Called Meeting Euless City Council April 4, 1958 Mayor Millican called his Council in a special meeting for April 4, 1958• Present were Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr., presiding, Councilmen J. S. Anderson, S. H. Cadenhead, Paul Horton, and W. 0. Murray. Also present were Councilmen elect Bobby Fuller and Albert Tillery. Also present for various business discussions were Fire Marshal Moore, Messrs. Warren Fuller, J. T. Holcomb, Ross W. Smith, T. H. Randolph and Raymond R. Barrier. The votes of the recent city election were canvassed and on a motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Caden- head, the results of the election as tabulated and certified by the election judge were accepted by the City Council naming Messrs. Bobby Fuller and Albert Tillery as newly elected Councilmen and Mr. Paul Horton as Councilman, reelected. The motion to accept was unanimous. On a motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Murray, the Council, by unanimous vote, approved the erection of a f I I i n g station by the National Gasoline System near the inter- section of Highway 183 and FM157, subject to review and possible revocation at the end of five years. The motion was adopted. On a motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Murray, further consideration was given National Gasoline System in waiving the requirements of Section 7 -A, page 11, Ordinance No. 28, Building Code and granting permission to use sheet metal in the construction of the building in connection with the filling station, in lieu of masonry. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Councilman Cadenhead made a motion, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that the City of Euless take membership in the Texas League of Municipalities. The motion was adopted. A motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, proposed that Chief of Police Sustaire be authorized to purchase finger printing equipment. The motion was adopted. On a final motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Anderson, it was moved that the City take advantage of the proposal offered by the U. S. Government to secure a map of this area whereby the Government w i l l assume 50 %of the cost and as agreed by him, Mr. Wisenbaker w i l l assume 50 %of the cost for the City of Euless. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote.
