EULESS ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY BOARD
August 21, 2024
ITEM 1 — CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Euless Animal Shelter Advisory Board was called to order by
Director of Public Works and Engineering Major Jones at 11:31 A.M. at the City of Euless
Public Works Building, 1513 Westpark Way, Euless, Texas 76040
The following members were in attendance:
Director of Public Works and Engineering Major Jones
Doctor Susan Read
City Council Member Eddie Price
Staff Members Present:
Assistant Director Public Works Joe Villa
AS Foreman Jodan Shelton
Administrative Secretary Debbie Latour
Patty Lemoine — Euless Shelter Cats
ITEM 2 — REVIEW & APPROVE MEETING MINUTES FROM MARCH 13, 2024
Director Jones asked if there were any comments or questions regarding the minutes of
March 13, 2024. With no questions or comments, the minutes were accepted as written.
ITEM 3 — UPDATE ON GAP
AS Foreman Shelton reported that GAP participated in multiple adoption events at
PetSmart, Principle Volkswagen and were present at "Bark in the Park" on May 18th and
will participate in this even again on September 28th. They also held a popcorn fundraiser,
earning $800 and held a "Hot Dog Yoga" event at Texas Star. Ms. Lemoine with Euless
Shelter Cats reported the adoption of several cats through Facebook advertisements,
networking with several individuals, and word of mouth advertising.
ITEM 4 — STAFF REPORT
• Operations:
AS Foreman Shelton reported that Animal Services has two (2) new Officers.
Roberto has complete his Basic Animal Control License, euthanasia, and bite stick
training and Jay will complete his basic animal control training in October.

• Facilities:
AS Foreman Shelton reported that Animal Services has been holding community
outreach programs at the Senior Center and various elementary schools. He also
reported that they had a Boy Scout build pet waste stations as his Eagle Scout
project.
ITEM 5 — ANIMAL SHELTER RENOVATION UPDATE
Director Jones and AS Foreman Shelton reviewed the renovation plans for the Animal
Shelter. Director Jones asked if there were any questions. Councilmember Price asked
how the small animal display would work and AS Foreman Shelton explained the
configuration of units to best utilize the space and showcase the small animals available
for adoption.
ITEM 6 — QUESTIONS / COMMENTS
Director Jones asked if there were any questions or comments. Debbie Latour notified
the Board that the next meeting was tentatively scheduled for October 28th. There were
no further questions or comments indicated.
ITEM 7 — ADJOURN
The meeting was adjourned at 12:20 P.M.
