Home My WebLink About97-979 08-12-1997RESOLUTION NO. 97 -979 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, AUTHORIZING THE BIDDING AND APPROVING THE ENGINEER'S COST ESTIMATE FOR PAVING IMPROVEMENTS TO U. S. HIGHWAY 157 FROM HIGHWAY 183 TO HIGHWAY 121. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS: Section 1 The City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, has previously determined the necessity for improving U. S. State Highway 157, from State Highway 183 to State Highway 121, and has agreed to participate with Texas Department of Transportation and has announced its intention to assess for the improvements. Section 2 Texas Department of Transportation has developed the plans and specifications for this project. Texas Department of Transportation will advertise, bid and award the contract for these paving costs. Section 3 Texas Depai tment of Transportation has prepared a cost estimate for this project. The estimated total constriction cost for this project is $7,670,055.00. The estimated cost of the project to the City of Euless is $1,386, 961.00. Section 4 The City Engineer has prepared an assessment roll from the information provided by Texas Department of Transportation setting forth the names of all property owners of property abutting that portion of Highway 157 which is to be improved and whose property may be subject to assessment. A true and correct copy of the assessment roll is attached to this resolution. Section 5 This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption. ADOPTED this 12th day of August 1997, at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
