Re: Apartment Recycling
I would like to again express CWD's confidence in the successful outcome of the Euless
apartments Recycling project. Our enthusiasm steams from what I would call a "Reasonable no
nonsense City Staff' coupled with our industry experience.
Wednesday, July 29, 1992 I received a call from the Fort Worth Star Telegram. Most of their
questions were about the apartment recycling. The reporter confirmed with me that this is the
first known municipal apartment recycling contract in Texas. His main question revolved around
contamination. Apartment loads will be taken to our Material Recovery Facility. If a large
percentage of the load goes to the landfill, we must assume someone like the Star will find out
and report it. Ever since BFI was filmed hauling a Wal-Mart can to the landfill, this has been
a big issue.
The present apartment recycling program may succeed. However, I would like to be assured
success. The attached plan A & B outline does give us assurance.
