HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-04-15Called Meeting Euless City Council April 15, 1958 The City Council met in a special session on April 15, 1958, at 7:30 P.M. Members of the Council present were Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr., and Councilmen S. H. Cadenhead, Paul Horton, W. 0. Murray, and Albert Tillery. The purpose of the meeting was to interview applicants for the position of City Secretary. Several applicants were interviewed but no action was taken by the Council at this meeting. On a motion by Councilman Murray, seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, it was moved that the City Council purchase a police patrol car and borrow the money from Arlington State Bank to pay for same, and that the Secretary be authorized to make arrangements for monthly payments to the Arlington State Bank. The motion was adopted with instructions to the Secretary to insert a copy of same in the minutes of August 5, 1957. Councilman Cadenhead offered a motion, seconded by Councilman Murray, that the City Council borrow money from Hurst State Bank to pay off the patrol car note at Arlington State Bank and authorize the Secretary to begin payments of $75.00 monthly on the note at the Hurst State Bank the-last of each month beginning with April. The motion was adopted and a copy of same inserted in the minutes of March 13, 1958. A final motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Horton, proposed that motion number 3, "proposed budget accepted" of October 29, 1957, be stricken from the records. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote and a copy of the motion inserted in the minutes of October 29, 1957• The meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m. Minutes Approved: /s/ Ernest Millican, Jr. Mayor Attest: City Secretary 15
