A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EULESS
OBJECTING TO PASSAGE OF THE INTERNET
TAX FREEDOM ACT
WHEREAS, the Small Cities Council of the National League of Cities
represents more than 75% of the NLC membership; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless, supports the efforts and resolution of the
Small Cities Council; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless is concerned about the effects of state and
municipal governments ability to continue service to our citizens if the
Internet Tax Freedom Act is passed; and
WHEREAS, the Small Cities Council serves this nation through its
representation of 1,166 cities of 50,000 or less population, and the City of
Euless currently has a population of 41,300.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Euless strongly
opposes the Internet Tax Freedom Act and requests the vote of our elected
officials in Congress against this devastating action against the nation's
cities and their local merchants.
Adopted by the City of Euless, Texas the 14th day of April, 1998.
