HomeMy WebLinkAbout99-1013 03-09-1999RESOLUTION NO. 99-1013 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A 1999 MASTER THOROUGHFARE PLAN AS A PART OF A MASTER PLAN FOR THE CITY OF EULESS WHEREAS, Article X, Section 3 of the Euless City Charter specifies that the Planning and Zoning Commission is responsible for recommending a master plan for the physical development of the City of Euless; and WHEREAS, from time to time, conditions change and it becomes necessary to update and amend the master plan; and WHEREAS, the City of Euless is experiencing population and employment growth and this trend is projected by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) to continue through the year 2020; and WHEREAS, an amended Comprehensive Land Development Plan was approved by Council in February of 1997; and WHEREAS, transportation is an important part of the planning and development of the City and is critical to the quality of life in the City of Euless; and WHEREAS, the 1999 Master Thoroughfare Plan is designed to provide a sound transportation network to accommodate development under the current Comprehensive Land Development Plan. WHEREAS, the 1999 Master Thoroughfare Plan is compatible with the NCTCOG's 2020 Mobility Plan and with thoroughfares of adjoining jurisdictions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS: THAT the 1999 Master Thoroughfare Plan is a report containing the attached Exhibit I. THAT the 1999 Master Thoroughfare Plan institutes policies which defines a system of roadways to serve the traffic demands, establishing design standards for thoroughfare implementation and provide preservation of right -of -way. THAT this resolution, with attached Exhibit I, be adopted by the City Council as the 1999 Master Thoroughfare Plan. ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 9th day of March, 1999, by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
