WHEREAS, pursuant to Sec. 201.501 of the Election Code of the State of
Texas and the Euless City Charter, it is provided that there shall be held a
special election for the purpose of submitting a proposition pertaining to the levy
and collection of a motor vehicle rental tax at the rate of five percent (5 %) with
the revenue to be shared with the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, under a
revenue sharing agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1
The City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, at a regular meeting held this date,
does hereby call a special election for the City of Euless, Texas, to be held on
November 2, 1999, for the purpose of submitting a proposition pertaining to the
levy and collection of a motor vehicle rental tax at the rate of five percent (5 %)
with the revenue to be shared with the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas,
under a revenue sharing agreement.
SECTION 2
All qualified voters determined by the laws of the State of Texas the Charter and
Ordinances of the City of Euless, shall be entitled to vote at such election. Early
voting shall be allowed and conducted within the times and in the manner
provided by law, and the Charter and Ordinances of the City of Euless.
SECTION 3
The results of the election shall be certified, canvassed and returned in the form
and manner prescribed by the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter and
Ordinances of the City of Euless.
SECTION 4
Notices of the election prescribed by this Resolution shall be promulgated,
published and posted in keeping with the laws of the State of Texas and the
Charter and Ordinances of the City of Euless.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 10th day
of August, 1999, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
