EULESS ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY BOARD
October 28, 2024
ITEM 1 — CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Euless Animal Shelter Advisory Board was called to order by
Director of Public Works and Engineering Major Jones at 11 A2 A.M. at the City of Euless
Public Works Building, 1513 Westpark Way, Euless, Texas 76040
The following members were in attendance:

Doctor Susan Read
City Council Member Eddie Price
Staff Members Present
Deputy City Manager Chris Barker
Assistant Director Public Works Joe Villa
AS Foreman Jodan Shelton
Administrative Secretary Debbie Latour
ITEM 2 — REVIEW & APPROVE MEETING MINUTES FROM MARCH 13, 2024
Director Jones asked if there were any comments or questions regarding the minutes of
August 21, 2024. With no questions or comments, the minutes were accepted as written.
ITEM 3 — UPDATE ON GAP
AS Foreman Shelton reported that GAP held a "Bark at the Park" event in which found
dogs were adopted. They held other smaller adoption events as well.
ITEM 4 — STAFF REPORT
• Operations:
AS Foreman Shelton reported that ASO Overton -Johnson completed his Basic
Animal Control License and euthanasia certification since starting with Animal
Services in July.
• Facilities:
AS Foreman Shelton reported that Animal Services anticipates moving to the
temporary facility on 12/01. Dr. Read inquired about changes needed to
accommodate all animals. Deputy City Manager Barker explained the internal and
external adjustments to the building and the benefits of the chosen facility. Council

Member Price asked how long the shelter renovation is expected to last. Deputy
City Manager Barker indicated that after the Notice to Proceed for the selected
contractor was issued, the renovation should take 12 — 14 months.
AS Foreman Shelton reported during "Clear the Shelter", there were 7 cats and 1
dog that was adopted and that Animal Services plans to participate in Trunk -or -
Treat, a pet costume contest, and the City of Euless Christmas Parade. Animal
Services will be going to the Senior Center to discuss backyard chickens in
September and rabies in October.
ITEM 5 — QUESTIONS / COMMENTS
Director Jones asked if there were any questions or comments. Debbie Latour informed
the Board that she would be sending out tentative dates for 2025 meetings at a later date.
There were no further questions or comments indicated.
ITEM 7 — ADJOURN
The meeting was adjourned at 12.12 P.M.
