City Council 10, 1958 The City Council met in their regular 1958, at 7:30 p.m. Present were Mayor S. H. Cadenhead, Bobby Fuller, Paul Horton, 1. A motion was made by Councilman Horton, and seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, that a door be cut between the City Secretary's office and the Chief of Police's office, and that a folding door be installed. 3. A motion was made by Councilman Murray, and seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, that Mr. R. E. Hall be issued a Certificate of Occupancy with the understanding that he connects to the sewer line with six taps when available or if unavailable will put in a 300 gallon septic tank with 150 feet of laterial line for drainage. The vote in favor was unanimous. 4. A motion was made by Councilman Cadenhead, and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that an invoice machine and invoices be purchased for the City Secretary's office. The vote in favor was unanimous. 5. A motion was made by Councilman Cadenhead, and seconded by Councilman Murray, that Mr. Joe Harvey, the Dog Warden, be authorized to make a choke stick to handle viscious dogs. The vote in favor was unanimous. 6. A motion was made to start to license dogs on June 16, 1958, and to start picking up unlicensed and stray dogs running loose on June 23, 1958. The motion was made by Councilman Murray and seconded by Councilman Cadenhead. The vote in favor was unanimous. 7. A motion was made to authorize Mr. Joe Harvey, the Dog Warden to pay up to $400.00 for a second hand pickup to be used by the Dog Warden for hauling dogs. A motion was made by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Horton, that W. E. Flippo be appointed Tax Collector & Assessor to succeed Mr. T. E. Kennard. The vote in favor was unanimous. 9. A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, seconded by Councilman Cadenhead to build a hose rack on the east side of the f i r e h a l l . The vote in favor was unanimous. 10. A motion was made by Councilman Murray, and seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, that the Mayor discuss with the Fire Marshal, the letter from the State Board of insurance requesting that they be furnished with regular monthly reports arriving not later than the 10th of each month, also asking for information about what is being done in the matter of teaching fire prevention in the public schools, and the question of allow- ance of credit for Arson Reward Ordinance. Also asking the Fire Chief to advise them in connection with the matter of possible rating recognition of his department. The vote in favor of this motion was unanimous. 11. The City Attorney, W. L. Bondurant, was asked about a request from the State Comptroller of Public Accounts requesting a report on bonded indebtedness of the City of Euless. Attorney Bondurant said as the City of Euless had no bonded indebtedness, a sworn statement giving this information should be furnished them. 12. A motion was made by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Horton, that the City Secretary write to Brown's Limousine Service, and the Hurst Water Company, asking them to attend the next Council meeting to discuss their franchise. The vote in favor was unanimous. 13. A motion was made by Councilman Horton and seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, that the Council meeting adjourn.
