RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING
RESULTS OF NOVEMBER 2, 1999, SPECIAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, an election was held within the City of Euless, Texas on November 2, 1999, on
the proposition whether to adopt a tax on the gross rental receipts from the short-term
rental of a motor vehicle rental tax at the rate of five percent; and
WHEREAS, there were a total of 1,720 voters at said election; and
WHEREAS, said election was called and held in strict conformity with the laws of the State
of Texas; and
WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of the City of Euless, Texas, voted at said
election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1
That an election was held within the City of Euless, Texas, on November 2, 1999, at which
the following proposition was submitted to the voters:
Authorizing the City of Euless, Texas, to impose a tax on the
gross rental receipts from the short-term rental in the City of a
motor vehicle rental tax at a maximum rate of five percent (5 %)
with the revenue to be shared with the cities of Dallas and Fort
Worth, Texas, under a revenue sharing agreement.
And at said election the total number of votes cast for the proposition was 1,424, and the
total number of votes cast against the proposition was 295.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Secretary of the City of Euless shall send to the
Comptroller of the State of Texas by United States certified mail a certified copy of this
resolution upon its adoption, along with a map of the City of Euless clearly showing its
boundaries.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 8th day of November, 1999.
