WHEREAS, the First Baptist Church of Euless is sponsoring a Community Wide
Millennium Celebration on December 31, 1999, at the church properties on State
Highway 157, also known as North Industrial Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that between 20,000 and 30,000 people will be in
attendance at the celebration; and
WHEREAS, the celebration will include a carnival, food booths, music concerts,
helicopter rides, fireworks display and is free and open to the public.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, TEXAS;
SECTION 1
The City Council of the City of Euless does hereby resolve that the Community Wide
Millennium Celebration being conducted by the First Baptist Church of Euless on
December 31, 1999, does serve a public purpose and it is in the best interest of the
public that the 100 -600 blocks of State Highway 157, also known as North Industrial
Boulevard, be closed to vehicular traffic from 6:00 p.m. on December 31, 1999, until
2:00 a.m. on January 1, 2000.
SECTION 2
The City Manager of the City of Euless is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement
with the State of Texas, acting by and through the Texas Department of Transportation,
to complete the closure of a segment of State Highway 157 at the dates and times
agreed upon.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 23rd day of
November, 1999, by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
