Each year, we honor these exceptional individuals to recognize their dedication and valuable service. Lifetime Contribution Award Jud Park is the recipient of this year's Lifetime Contribution Award, recognized for his dedicated service to the Euless community. A humble and hardworking gentleman, Jud is known for his quiet nature and meaningful contributions. He has spent countless hours volunteering with the Euless Police Department, including serving with Citizens on Patrol, at the jail, and on the shredding team. Jud has also served on the Civil Service Commission, a member of the Historical Preservation Committee, and received the President's Volunteer Service Award Bronze in 2010. Always positive and treating others like family, he embodies the spirit of service. The City of Euless is proud to honor him. Jim Pope is one of the hardest working and most dedicated volunteers in the City of Euless. Jim spends his time serving in Euless Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, Euless Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association, Ham Radio, and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). He often works behind the scenes, creating fundraising signs and assisting with post -event clean up. Through CERT, Jim participates in multi -city drills and various special events. He is passionate about bringing volunteers in different organizations together to create a strong volunteer group. Volunteer Group of the Year The HEB ISD District Alternative Education Program (DAEP) is this year's recipient of the Volunteer Group of the Year. This group spent over 300 hours assisting the mobile food pantry efforts at Ash Lane United Methodist Church, resulting in over 150 families in the community receiving assistance with food. Over 230 students contributed more than 500 hours serving between the Ash Lane United Methodist Church mobile food pantry and the 6Stones food pantry. In-N-Out participates in numerous Euless events, including the Public Safety Open House, Michael Williamson Memorial Golf Tournament, David Hofer Summer Camp, and HEB Reads! They provide free meals to attendees at these events as a way to give back to the community, including over 1,000 meals at the 2024 Public Safety Open House. They stay busy in the region, and are returning for the 2025 HEB Reads! kickoff on May 17. Conor is actively involved with the library by assisting with programs and helping people register for the summer reading program. Conor is committed to excellence in his work, and embraces leadership roles. Conor is a mentor for new volunteers, and plays a key part in the success of volunteers. He has over 100 volunteer hours at the library, and his success transfers to the classroom. Conor earned perfect scores on his college entrance exams and is preparing for graduation. His contribution to the library and the community is truly appreciated. Concert in the Park: Gone Country (Alan Jackson Fry ID Tribute Band) Friday, May 2, 6 - 8 p. m. Glade Parks 2701 Rio Grande Blvd. Gone Country is a Dallas -based country band that was formed by local musicians who love the traditional country music sound written and performed by the living legend Alan Jackson. Gone Country is excited to bring you these hits, and more, live on stage with the beautiful sounds from the steel guitar, fiddle, piano and guitar. May 3 is Election Day The City of Euless is holding a general election on May 3. The General City Council Election for Place One and Place Three is being held to fill expiring terms. Euless voters may vote at the Euless Family Life Senior Center or any of the polling places in Tarrant County on Election Day, May 3. Raven's Grille at Texas Star Golf Course 1400 Texas Star Parkway Mother's Day is right around the corner, so let Raven's Grille take care of planning a memorable brunch for Mom. This brunch offers great food and a warm atmosphere that will certainly make her happy. The specially-curated menu has something for everyone, from a made -to -order omelet station to a variety of delicious breakfast and lunch entrees. Raven's Grille will be closed for breakfast and dinner during this event. HEB Reads! Summer Reading Challenge Kick -Off Party Saturday, May 17 10 a.m. -1: 00 p. m. Pennington Field, Bedford Join us for a Kick -Off Party for HEB Reads!, a community -wide summer reading challenge. Enjoy free games, entertainment, and fun activities, as well as a free book to take home. In-N-Out Burger is back this year to serve free burgers for everyone! Reading, or being read to, for 20 minutes a day makes a huge difference in a child's life. It's also fun and great family bonding time. Splash Pad Opens May 24 South Euless Park 600 South Main Street Free The Splash Pad is free, family -friendly fun. No matter how hot it is outside, the Splash Pad provides an entertaining way for people of all ages to keep cool. These amenities are great for younger children because they do not present the same drowning hazard as swimming pools. A magic touch bollard turns on the fun. Interactive spray elements are timed so water only runs when the sprayground is in use. There are several water effects for all children to play in, including a raining bucket, an in -ground spray fountain, poles, a colorful misty arch, geysers, and a spray column all located on a blue rubber surface. Two benches and a beach but shade structure provide places for adults to stay dry and supervise while children play. Aquatic Park Opens May 24 300 West Midway Drive Daily Fee for Residents: $5 Daily Fee for Non -Residents: $10 Spend the summer at the Euless Family Life Aquatic Park! Enjoy the 545-foot long lazy river on provided inner tubes, or relax on the lounge chairs beside the pool. The zero -depth entry interactive water playground is available for young ones to enjoy fountains, slides, and water falling from a raindrop bucket. Parents can supervise the activities on the tranquil waterfall bench with continuously flowing water to help keep cool. Older children with a sense of adventure can choose from two flume slides and one run -out slide (48-inch height requirement) that are 28 feet high, play basketball in the pool, or test their agility on the lily pad walk (48-inch height requirement). The Aquatic Park offers both shaded and non -shaded seating areas with picnic tables and lounge chairs around the pool, as well as a concession stand and bathhouse. Lifejackets are available upon request at no charge. Midway Drive This summer, keep your children entertained and engaged. Euless' Summer Adventure Camp is packed full of fun adventures and daily events. Activities range from sports, games, arts, crafts, and more. All you have to do is bring lunch, two snacks, and a water bottle to camp every day, and staff will handle the rest. Camp runs June 2 through August 1, and there's no camp during the week of July 4. Enroll today, because spots fill up quickly! Get a Registration Form in person at the Euless Family Life Center, or online at recreation. eulesstx. gov. Parents receive a Parent Handbook, Youth Standards of Care, and other pertinent information at the time of registration. Camp fees: $10 non-refundable/transferable deposit per week (Due by May 3) Resident - $165 per week (includes $10 deposit) Non -Resident - $215 per week (includes $10 deposit) Get a $200 discount if whole summer is paid in full!
