WORK SESSION OF THE EULESS
CITY COUNCIL
August 3, 2024
A work session of the Euless City Council was called to order at 8:31 a.m. on Saturday,
August 3, 2024, at the Texas Star Golf Course and Conference Centre, 1400 Texas Star
Parkway, Euless, Texas, for the purpose of discussing the proposed annual budget and
related items for Fiscal Year 2024-2025.

City Manager Getchell provided an overview of the budget and advised that the proposed
budget will raise less revenue from property taxes than last year's budget by an amount
of $-53,808, which is a -.019 percent decrease from last year's budget. The property tax
revenue added to the tax roll this is year is $87,460.
City Manager Getchell advised that the proposed property tax rate is 44.67 cents per
$100 valuation, which is a 1.08 cent decrease from the current rate of 45.75 cents per
$100 valuation.
City Manager Getchell presented highlights of the proposed budget, and stated that no
cut to programs or services to citizens is being proposed. She advised that the proposed
budget includes the addition of new personnel (Water Field Technician I, a Park Field
Technician I, and an Elementary School Resource Officer Manager, along with an
upgrade of an Office Technician at the Texas Star Golf Course), amendments to the pay
plan to maintain a skilled workforce and remain competitive, and increases to the water
and wastewater rates with a proposed increase to the rate stabilization rebate.
City Manager Getchell reviewed the City's tax rate history, average home value and
proposed tax rate impact (including senior freeze), and presented a comparison of the
City's tax rate, including exemptions with neighboring cities.

Deputy City Manager Barker reviewed the recommended Capital and Supplement
projects for fiscal year 2025.
City Manager Getchell reviewed the meeting schedule for August 2024.
Deputy City Manager Barker presented updates on current projects and advised of items
that will be forthcoming for consideration by the City Council,
Mayor Martin adjourned the worksession at 2:33 p.m.
