The first meeting of the newly -appointed Charter Review Committee
was held Monday, November 12, 1990, at the close of the Boards and
Commissions Orientation.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Jimmy Payton, Chairman
Neal Adams, Vice Chairman
Marland Ernest
Wilie Mae McCormick
Bill Pasteur
Bill Byers
Glenn Walker
Bonnie O'Brien
Charles Miller
Dwayne Wilcox
(Bob Pippin was not present)
Kay Godbey, Assistant City Manager
Susan Crim, City Secretary
Mayor Samuels and Council Members Staks, Saleh and Baker visited
the meeting and expressed their appreciation to the Charter Review
Committee members for serving in this capacity.
On the recommendation of the Chairman, the regular meeting date
was set for the second Monday of each month, with the next meeting
scheduled for December 10, 1990, at 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Payton requested the City Secretary obtain copies of charters
from several cities of approximately the same size as the City of
Euless for the committee members to study. He also asked for
information to be obtained from the Texas Municipal League
regarding alternative forms of government.
