HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-09-02Fly Called Meeting Euless City Council September 2, 1958 The Council met in a special council meeting on September 2, 1958. Present were Mayor Ernest Mill ican, Jr., Councilmen S. H. Cadenhead, W. 0. Murray and Albert Tillery. 1. This public hearing is for the purpose of hearing from citizens or interested parties in connection with the proposed budget for 1958, for the City of Euless, Texas. No citizen or interested person appeared before the City Council in connection with this proposed budget. 2. The City Secretary was instructed to obtain infomation, licenses and fees charged by other cities in connection with the operation of their Peddlers Ordinance. 3. A motion was made by Councilman Cadenhead, and seconded by Councilman Tillery, that Ordinance No. 102, amending Zoning Ordinance No. 33 be approved. Ordinance No. 102 changes the zoning from "A" Single Family Dwelling District, owned by the Tri- Cities Development Corporation be and is hereby changed from "A" Single Family Dwelling District to "B" Commercial District. Legal description is as follows: That the designation of Lots 10, 11, 12, in Block 1; Lots 9, 10, 11, in Block 3; and Lots 1 through 8 i n c l u s i v e in Block 4; a l l in the Arnett Addition to the City of Euless, Tarrant County, Texas; according to plat recorded in Book 388-R, Page 23, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas, now zoned "A" Single Family Dwelling, be zoned "B" Commercial District. The vote in favor was unanimous. 4. A motion was made by Councilman Tillery, and seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, that Ordinance No. 103, amending Zoning Ordinance No. 33, that the designation of the following described property: Tract One: Being a tract of land out of the J. P. Halford Survey, Tarrant County, Texas, and beginning at a p o i n t in the West l i n e of North Main Street (the Euless- Grapevine Road) in the present line of the city l i m its, said beginning point being 404.6 feet South 00 degrees 35 minutes West from the southeast corner of the Midway Park Addition to the City of Euless, Texas; Thence South 00 degrees 35 minutes West 300.0 feet; Thence North 89 degrees 25 minutes West 300.0 feet; Thence North 00 degrees 35 minutes East 150.0 feet; Thence South 88 degrees 33 minutes East 159.0 feet; Thence North 00 degrees 35 minutes East 150.0 feet; Thence South 38 degrees 33 minutes East 150.0 feet to the point of beginning. Tract Two: Being a tract of land out of the J. P. Halford Survey, Tarrant County, Texas, and beginning at a p o i n t in the West l i n e of North Main Street (Euless- Grapevine Road) in the present line of the city limits, said beginning point being 764.6 feet South 00 degrees 35 minutes West from the Southeast corner of the Midway Park Addition to the City of Euless, Texas; Thence South 00 degrees 35 minutes West 125.0 feet; Thence North 89 degrees 25 minutes West 309.0 feet; Thence North 00 degrees 35 minutes East 129.67 feet; Thence South 88 degrees 33 minutes East 309.0 feet to the place of beginning; now zoned "A" Single Family Dwelling, owned by the Midway Park Developers, Joint Venturers, WOO (Page Two, Called Meeting, Euless City Council, September 2, 1958) be and is hereby changed from "A" Single Family Dwelling to "B" Local Business District. The vote in favor of this motion was unanimous. 5. The City Secretary was instructed to write to the Judd Real Estate & Insurance Company, Fort Worth, Texas, that the property they own in Mosier Valley, south of the Pipeline Road is not within the City Limits of Euless, Texas. 6. A motion was made by Councilman Murray, and seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, to authorize the Chief of Police to order such stop signs as he thinks are necessary. The vote in favor was unanimous. 7. The City Council discussed building a small j a i l back of the present community building. Councilman Tillery was akded to get an estimate of the cost, and report back to the City Council.
