HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-07-10 Special Called MeetingMINUTES OF A SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF THE EULESS CITY COUNCIL JULY 10, 2025 A precouncil meeting of the Euless City Council was called to order by Mayor Linda Martin at 5:34 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in the Precouncil Room in City Hall, 201 N. Ector Drive, Euless, Texas. Those present included Mayor Linda Martin, Mayor Pro Tem Tim Stinneford, Council Members Jeremy Tompkins, Eddie Price, Perry Bynum, Tika Paudel, and Annabel Eads. During the precouncil meeting: > Assistant City Manager Steven Viera addressed the City Council regarding the Oncor proposed rate increase, and stated that approval of a Resolution by the City Council will suspend the effective date of the increase until the Steering Committee has had an opportunity to review the application and prepare a response. > City Manager Chris Barker provided a budget update as it relates to the preliminary property tax values as provided by the Tarrant Appraisal District, and the impact as we continue to prepare the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 proposed budget. COUNCIL CONSIDERATION OF SCHEDULED ITEMS — COUNCIL CHAMBERS The special called meeting of the Euless City Council was called to order by Mayor Martin at 7:03 p.m. for consideration of scheduled items. STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: City Manager Chris Barker Assistant City Manager Steven Viera City Secretary/Chief Governance Officer Kim Sutter Finance Director Janina Jewell Director of Information Services Scott Joyce VISITORS LeeAnn Folau INVOCATION City Manager Chris Barker gave the invocation. PLEDGES OF ALLEGIANCE Assistant City Manager Steven Viera led the pledges of allegiance to the flags of the United States and Texas. Special Called Council Minutes Page 2 of 2 July 10, 2025 ITEM NO. 1. APPROVED RESOLUTION NO. 25-1678 Mayor Martin introduced the item. Mayor Pro Tem Stinneford motioned to approve Resolution No. 25-1678, suspending the July 31, 2025 effective date of Oncor Electric Delivery Company's requested rate change in order to permit the City time to study the request and establish reasonable rates. Council Member Bynum seconded the motion. Ayes: Mayor Martin, Mayor Pro Tem Stinneford, Council Members, Tompkins, Price, Bynum, Paudel, and Eads Nays: None Mayor Martin declared the motion carried. ITEM NO. 2. PUBLIC COMMENTS No public comments. ITEM NO. 3.
