HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-10-14Regular Meeting Euless City Council October 14, 1958 The Council met in regular session on October 14, 1958, at 7:30 p.m. Present were Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr., Councilmen S. H. Cadenhead, "aul Horton, Bobby Fuller, W. 0. Murray, and Albert Tillery. 1. Appearing before the City Council was Mr. Tom Curran, representing the Barnes Aerial Survey Company of Dallas, to discuss making an aerial map for the City of Euless. He offered to make an aerial map covering the Euless City Limits, to be mounted on a board or linen, photographic flight subsequent to order, five feet by eight feet, scaled I" to 400 feet for $215.00. The Councilmen discussed this matter, but no action was taken at this meeting. 2. Mayor Millican read a letter written by City Attorney W. L. Bondurant to Mr. John Gano, Assistant City Attorney of Fort Worth. The letter informed Mr. Gano that the City of Euless could not exchange the acreage they asked for in eleven surveys for the forty five acre tract they offered to the City of Euless. He asked Mr. Gano to get the City of Fort Worth to submit another offer. A motion was made by Councilman Murray, and seconded by Councilman Horton, that the City Council approve this letter. Vote in favor of the motion was unanimous. 3. A motion was made by Councilman Fuller and seconded by Councilman Murray, that the City of Euless join the Hurst - Euless Independent School District and the City of Hurst in hiring a man to measure new houses, buildings and additions to houses, and to make out tax cards on all of them to bring this year's tax rolls up to date. The City of Euless to pay this man's salary for one month as our share of this program, not to cost the City of Euless more than $300.00. The vote in favor was unanimous. CI A motion was made by Councilman Murray, and seconded by Councilman Tillery, to pay Mayor Millican the sum of $40.00 to cover the salary he lost while on the trip to Kenosha, Wisconsin, to bring the new fire truck back to Euless. A motion was made by Councilman Horton, and seconded by Councilman Fuller, to adjourn. The vote in favor of this motion was unanimous, and the meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. Attest: /s/ W. E.
