AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING ORDINANCE NO. 20,
ADOPTED ON DECEMBER 7, 1953, AS SUBSEQUENTLY
AMENDED GRANTING SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE
COMPANY A FRANCHISE FOR THE PURPOSE OF
OPERATING ITS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUSINESS WITHIN
THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS_ PRESCRIBING THE
CONDITIONS GOVERNING THE USE OF PUBLIC
RIGHTS-OF-WAY: PROVIDING COMPENSATION
THEREFORE AND PROVIDING FOR A TERM AND AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless, Texas, on December 7, 1953, granted to
Southwestern Bell Telephone Company a franchise for the operation and conduct of
Its telephone business within the City of Euless, Texas; and
WHEREAS, such franchise was subsequently amended by agreements between
the City and Southwestern Bell on December 31, 1975 and September 29, 1987; and
WHEREAS, such franchise agreement was for an original term extending
through October 13, 1973 and was subsequently extended through October 13, 1993
and thereafter further extended through October 14, 1994; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, to
further extend such franchise agreement upon the same terms and conditions as now
exists through December 31, 1995.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
I.
Ordinance No. 20 of the City of Euless, Texas, granting a franchise agreement
to Southwestern Bell Telephone Company adopted on December 7, 1953, and as
subsequently amended, as herein set forth, is now herewith and hereby further
extended to December 31, 1995, upon all of the same terms and conditions and for
the same consideration heretofore and hereafter to be paid during the term of such
franchise.
11.
Effective Date. This ordinance shall be effective from October 14, 1994, and
shall expire unless sooner terminated or otherwise extended, on December 31, 1995.
PRESENTED AND GIVEN FIRST READING at a regular meeting of the Euless
City Council on the 9th day of August, 1994, by a vote of _ ayes -0- nays, and
-0- obstentions;
