We recently celebrated the opening of Fire Station No. 2, located at 2301 W. Pipeline Road. I encourage everyone to drive by and see the impressive new building and its onsite training tower. The Animal Shelter renovation remains on schedule, with an estimated completion in late December 2025/early January 2026. Over at the Police & Court facility, construction is progressing towards a mid-fall 2026 completion. Crews are currently removing the old exterior façade to prepare for new brick and stone finishes. At the Texas Star Golf Course and Conference Centre, interior restroom upgrades are nearly complete, and renovations to the golf course and pavilion are well underway, with an expected reopening in October 2025. The new station, located at 2301 W. Pipeline Road, is over 19,000 square feet and features a three-story training facility. The new station also allows for better access to major roadways, which will improve response times for fire and EMS personnel. The previous Station No. 2, located at 1515 Westpark Way, is being repurposed into a new Animal Services Center. The updated facility will total nearly 14,000 square feet. The community is invited to Fire Station No. 2 for the annual Public Safety Open House, which is on Saturday, October 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 817-685-1600. Euless Fire Station No. 2 Now in Service City offices will be closed on September 1. Trash and recycling will run as normal. Please join us for a ceremony to remember the heroes who lost their lives during the attack on our nation. The City of Euless is the owner of an artifact from the World Trade Center. The artifact is a 12-foot-long, 6,000-pound steel beam from the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. This memorial sits in front of the Euless Fire Administration Building as a memorial to the thousands killed that tragic day. The annual event allows dogs and cats to find there furever homes. Adoptions are available for a small fee, and GAP merchandise is also for sale. Proceeds benefit the Animal Shelter. Starting later this year, the Euless Today newsletter will no longer be included in the water bill. Instead, residents who subscribe to the newsletter will receive it directly in their email inbox. A handful of printed versions of Euless Today will be available at select City buildings for pickup. This change aims to provide easier access to the newsletter, reduce printing and mailing costs, and allow us to share information in a more timely manner, ensuring that you stay up to date with the latest news and events. If so, now is the time to apply to volunteer for various City events. There are exciting upcoming volunteer opportunities at events like Trunk or Treat, Parade of Lights, Heritage Park Christmas, and more. The City also accepts applications for volunteer positions on various boards and commissions to be appointed by the City Council. CPR Blitz Applications Wanted Do you own a house that needs exterior work that is beyond your ability to repair? If so, then apply for the Community Powered Revitalization (CPR) program. This program is a joint effort between 6 Stones, the cities of Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Grapevine, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and churches to help struggling homeowners make necessary home repairs. The CPR program provides help to homeowners who are in the greatest need of assistance and are unable to perform the necessary work themselves. Each Fall and Spring, CPR brings volunteers together to work on houses of those in need. Homeowners must meet income qualifications and at least one of the following: be 62 or older, a veteran or the spouse of a veteran, disabled, handicapped, or a single parent with minor children at home. If selected, volunteers come to your home and do exterior work, such as scraping, painting, clean up, and yard work. The next CPR event is October 17 and 18, so get your applications in today. Midway Park Receives Upgrades Visit the renovated Midway Park to enjoy open areas that include colorful, new equipment. One play structure is for children ages 2 to 5 and the other structure is for children ages 5 to 12. The new play areas include:• Climbing structures• Slides• Play panels fit for all ages and abilities• New swing bay, complete with a multi-user arch swing For children’s safety, there is a fence between the play areas and the parking lot. Midway Park also features handicapped-accessible picnic tables, barbecue grills, benches, water fountains, port-o-lets, pet stations, bike racks, and 0.8 miles of trails. In addition, this 22-acre park includes two youth practice baseball fields, four lighted pickleball courts, and a lighted, hard-surface volleyball court.
