HomeMy WebLinkAbout25-1683 10-28-2025RESOLUTION NO. 25-1683 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN ADVANCE FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM GRANT IMPROVEMENTS AT THE INTERSECTION OF DICKEY DRIVE AND STATE HIGHWAY 10. WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation and the City of Euless agree that highway safety improvements are needed at the intersection of Dickey Drive and State Highway 10 (SH 10) (referenced as TXDOT CSJ 0094-02-148); and WHEREAS, increasing traffic volume at the intersection of Dickey Drive and SH 10 contribute to the decline in safety at that intersection; and WHEREAS, traffic safety is a primary concern throughout the State Highway System; and WHEREAS, the installation of traffic signals with intersection safety lighting, refresh pavement markings, upgrade signage, and closing the median opening at the intersection of Dickey Drive and SH 10 will significantly improve the safety and traffic flow; and WHEREAS, the City of Euless finds that the project is necessary for the benefit of the public in order to facilitate the efficient and effective management of vehicle traffic through and on public roads located within Euless; and WHEREAS, the estimated total cost of the project is $840,756 with the City's share of the costs estimated to be $150,705. The State will be responsible for 100% of the Construction cost overruns. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City Council authorizes an Advance Funding Agreement with the State of Texas for the construction of the Highway Safety Improvement Program grant improvements at the intersection of Dickey Drive and State Highway 10. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, hereby authorizes City Manager Chris Barker to enter into and execute all documents as it relates to TXDOT CSJ 0094- 02-148. SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage. APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the October 28, 2025, by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
