CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS
DECEMBER 9, 1992
SECTION I
ESTABLISHMENT: The Historical Preservation Committee was established
October 27, 1992, by Resolution No. 92-793 of the Euless
City Council.
PURPOSE: The purpose of the committee is to preserve the culture,
genealogy, archives and structures of the City of Euless
by preserving the visible reminders and providing
protection for the historical treasures of the City.
SECTION II
DUTIES: A. Review and recommend rules and regulations for
maintaining and preserving the historical matters of
the City of Euless.
B. Establish and encourage public participation in
historical organizations.
C. Document and preserve the physical, verbal and ethnic
heritage of the City of Euless.
D. Perform such other duties as might be assigned by the
City Council.
SECTION III
GENERAL: A. These Bylaws shall govern the activities and
responsibilities of the Historical Preservation
Committee.
B. As used herein, the term Historical Preservation
Committee, or Committee, shall have the same meaning
and refer to the Committee established by the City
Council .
SECTION IV
ORGANIZATION A. Membership
AND OFFICERS:
Membership of the Historical Preservation
Committee shall be comprised of no more than ten
members appointed by the City Council. Each
committee member shall be appointed by the City
Council and shall serve such terms as approved
by the City Council . Alternates may be
appointed as needed.
B. Officers
1 . The chairperson shall conduct and preside over
meetings. The chairperson shall conduct other
duties as described in the bylaws and as
required by the City Council.
2. The Vice-Chairperson shall act as chairperson in
the absence of the appointed chairperson.
3. The Recording Secretary shall record the minutes
and attendance of the committee. The Recording
Secretary shall be elected each year in December
by the committee members.
C. Terms of Office
Each committee member shall be appointed by the
City Council and shall serve such terms as
approved by the City Council .
D. Attendance
The attendance of committee members is essential
if business is to be conducted. A committee
member shall notify the city offices or the
committee chairperson if he/she is unable to
attend a meeting. A committee member not in
attendance at two consecutive meetings shall be
contacted by the committee chairperson regarding
attendance. The chairperson will notify the
City Council if the committee considers a ,
member's lack of attendance a problem that
affects the committee's ability to conduct
business.
SECTION V
MEETINGS: A. Meeting Dates
1 . The Committee shall meet on the second Monday
of each month. The Chairperson may call
additional meetings when the business before the
committee requires. A regular meeting date may
be changed upon the affirmative vote of a
majority of the committee members present during
any meeting.
2. The regular meeting, second Monday in December,
shall be known as the annual meeting.

B. Quorum
A quorum shall consist of a majority of the
committee membership.
C. Agenda
An agenda shall be prepared for distribution to
the committee membership and the City Secretary.
A copy of the agenda shall be posted, as required
by law, for a period of at least 72 hours prior
to the meeting.
D. Work Sessions
The committee may be convened for the purpose of
holding a work session, provided that no
official business shall be conducted. The
committee may be convened for work sessions in
the same manner as prescribed for calling
additional meetings. No quorum shall be
required for a work session.
E. Order of Business
The order of business shall follow Robert's
Rules of Order, Revised.
SECTION VI
CERTIFICATION A. A certified copy of the Bylaws and any amendments
AMENDMENTS: thereto shall be filed in the office of the .City
Secretary within ten (10) days following the date of
adoption.
B. These Bylaws may be amended by the Committee upon the
affirmative vote of a majority of the committee
membership provided that the amendment has been
submitted in writing to each committee member. All
changes must be approved by the Euless City Council
before becoming effective by the Committee .
