AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 30 -16, 'SOLID WASTE
COLLECTION" OF CHAPTER 30 'FEES" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES,
CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, TO PROVIDE REVISED FEES FOR
COLLECTION OF RECYCLABLES; AMENDING SECTION 66 -1,
"DEFINITIONS" OF CHAPTER 66 'SOLID WASTE" OF SAID CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO EXPAND THE LIST OF RECYCLABLE MATERIALS;
PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
That the 'Recycling Rates" contained in Section 30 -16, "SOLID WASTE COLLECTION' of
Chapter 30 "FEES' of the Code of Ordinances, City of Euless, Texas, as amended, be hereby
amended to hereafter read as follows:
Recycling Rates:
Single family recycling fee ...................................... ...............................

Single family senior citizen recycling fee ............... ...............................
$0.85
Apartment recycling fee ........................................... ...............................
$0.85 /unit
That the definition of "Recyclable Materials" contained in Section 66 -1 "Definitions" of Chapter
66 "SOLID WASTE" of the Code of Ordinances, City of Euless, Texas, as amended, be
hereby amended to hereafter read as follows:
RECYCLABLE MATERIALS.
a. Newspapers and slicks less than one month old and magazines (excluding items such
as junk mail and other paper).
SAVING CLAUSE. That Chapters 30 and 66 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Euless,
Texas, as amended, shall remain in full force and effect, save and except as amended by this
ordinance.

IV.
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. That it is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council
that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are
severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this ordinance shall
be declared invalid or unconstitutional by the valid judgment or decree of any court of
competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the
remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the
same would have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation in this ordinance
of any such invalid or unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section.
V.
EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and publication as provided by the Euless City Charter and the laws of the State of Texas;
provided, however, that the revised rates set forth herein shall take effect at 12:01 a.m. on
February 1, 1995.
PRESENTED AND APPROVED ON THE FIRST AND FINAL READING on the 24th day of
January, 1995, at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, by a vote
of 6 ayes, 1 nay and 0 abstentions.
