Police Chief Gary Landers introduced the members of the panel and the department
directors in attendance and opened the floor to questions from the audience.
TOPICS OF DISCUSSION
Staff responded to questions from the audience related to the following:
- Solid Waste and Recycling Services
- Traffic concerns at the intersection of Signet and FM 157; Tibbets; and Westpark
Way Circle;
- Painting of fire hydrant on Oakridge Drive;
- Motorized vehicles used on City trails;
- Condition of roadway signage along State Highway 360 and State Highway 183;
- Excessive litter along State Highway 183 at Main Street;
- Noise complaints (South Main and Whitener Road);
- Notification for Mosquito spraying; and
- Condition of United States Post Office on Ector Drive.
City Manager Chris Barker presented information related to:
- Development in the City, including Glade Parks;
- Status of Waterbend development (formerly Water Color) (SH 183 and SH 360);
- Fire Station No. 2 opening;
- Police and Court Facility renovations; and
- Animal Shelter renovation and expansion.
On behalf of Mayor Martin, City Manager Barker read a statement announcing that she is
not seeking re-election. She expressed her support for the current City Council and
recognized the willingness of the City Council to always to work together for the betterment
of the City.
Each City Council Member expressed their appreciation to those in attendance.
