A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS,
TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE POLICE CHIEF AS THE AUTHORIZED
OFFICIAL TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER, OR TERMINATE
THE DJ -- EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE
GRANT PROGRAM FROM THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, TEXAS,
CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, TO FUND THE PURCHASE OF DIGITAL
FORENSICS EQUIPMENT FOR THE CITY OF EULESS POLICE
DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council finds it in the best interest of the
citizens of the City of Euless that Digital Forensics Equipment be funded for Fiscal Year
2027; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council agrees that in the event of loss or
misuse of the Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Euless City Council assures that
the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council designates the Police Chief as the
grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept,
reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council designates the Finance Director as the
grantee's financial officer. The financial officer is given the power to submit financial
and/or programmatic reports or alter a grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, authorizes the Police Chief to apply
for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the DJ — Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance
Grant from the Texas Office of the Governor - Criminal Justice Division in accordance
with the terms and conditions thereof for Digital Forensics Equipment (Grant Number
5505701) and accept funds up to the amount of $125,000 for the Digital Forensics
Equipment.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on
February 10, 2026, by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
