AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE III, SECTION 82-62 OF THE EULESS CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO RETURN TO THE ORIGINAL SPEED LIMIT ON A PORTION OF WEST
PIPELINE ROAD; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE; AND PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless desires to return to the original speed limit on a portion of West
Pipeline Road due to the completion of the Sulphur Branch Channel Improvement Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS,
TEXAS:
Section 82-62 entitled "Same - -On certain streets and portions of streets," of Article III, entitled
"Operation of Vehicle" of Chapter 82 of the Euless Code of Ordinances, is hereby amended to return the
Speed Limit from 25 MPH to the original 35 MPH for vehicles traveling upon the named street or parts
thereof, as follows:
Pipeline Road from the 4000 block west through the 4300 block, from Chaparral Dr. to Arwine
Cemetery Road (Hurst City limits).
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the terms and provisions of this ordinance shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in accordance with Chapter
1, Section 1 -12, Euless Code of Ordinances. Each such violation shall be deemed a separate offense
and shall be punishable as such hereunder.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided
by the Euless City Charter and the laws of the State of Texas.
IV.
That it is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council that the section, paragraphs,
sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are severable, and if any phrase, clause sentence,
paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be declared invalid or unconstitutional by the valid judgment
or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect any of
the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the same
would have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation in this ordinance of any such
invalid or unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 26th day of March
1996, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
