HomeMy WebLinkAbout123 02-23-1960ORDINANCE NO. 123 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A PART OF SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL OF THE PRIVILEGES OF CIPHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED, AND PRO- VIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, purusuant to the provisions of the Acts 1953, 53rd Legislature Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article 974 -G, Hurst- Euless Independent School District of Tarrant County,Texas, owners of the real property herein- after described, have made application as by law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, requesting annexation to the City of Euless, Texas, of a tract of land situated in the J. M. Cummings Survey, Abstract No. 302, Tarrant County, Texas, and being more particularly des- cribed as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the North line of the Old Dallas Road, County Road No. 3011, 1547.1 feet South 89 deg. 00 min. West from the West line of the Euless- Grapevine Road, County Road No. 3129; THENCE North 00 deg. 05 min. West 675.66 feet; THENCE South 89 deg. 00 min. West 644.7 feet, toa fence in the West line of a tract of land conveyed to Paul Revere Co. by a Warranty Deed by Tarrant Land Company, recorded in Vol. 3134, page 415, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas; THENCE South 00 deg. 05 min. East 675.66 feet, with a fence to the North line of the Old Dallas Road; THENCE North 89 deg. 00 min. East 644.7 feet to the point of beginning; and containing 10.0 acres of land. WHEREAS, the City Council of Euless, Texas, as provided by law, has received said petition and duly and legally considered the same, and it appearing to the Council of said City, that all statutory requirements in connection with said application have been fulfilled and that said area is adjacent and contiguous to the City of Euless, Texas, and is not more than one -half mile in width on which not more than three qualified voters reside, all of which the Council so finds. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS: 1. THAT, the property hereinabove described and as shown on the plat attached hereto, being adjacent and contiguous to the City Limits of Euless, Texas, be and is hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of the City of Euless, Texas, and is hereby made an integral part thereof. 2. THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other Citizens and property owners of said City, and be boundby all of the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto, now in full force and effect and that which may be hereinafter adopted. 3 THAT, the official map and boundaries of the City of Euless, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended be and is hereby amended so as to include the aforementioned described therein territory as part of the City of Euless, Texas. 4. THAT this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, and duly attested by the City Secretary.
