HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-02-04Called Meeting Euless City Council February 4, 1959 The Euless City Council met in a special called meeting on February 4, 1959• Present were Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr., Councilmen S. H. Cadenhead, Paul Horton, Bobby Fuller, W. 0. Murray, and Albert T i 1 lery. 1. A motion was made by Councilman Horton, and seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, that Councilman Fuller act as chairman of a committee to buy the necessary furniture and equipment for the Council Room and the Corporation Court Room. This is to include the necessary chairs and a table and possibly a rostrum or platform for the Corporation Court Judge. The vote in favor was unanimous. 2. A motion was made by Councilman Cadenhead, and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that City Attorney W. L. Bondurant scrutinize Ordinance Nos. 79 and 50 to see if they can be revised and improved. He is also to prepare an electrical ordinance and a plumbing ordinance. The vote in favor was unanimous. 3. A motion was made by Councilman Horton, and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that the petition as submitted by the Highway Committee for certain changes in the construciton of Highway 183 not be approved and signed by the City Council. This action was taken after it was disclosed that Mr. Allen King, owner of White's Auto Store had paid for the posts when they were put in at his place of business, and that he had not been consulted by the Highway Committee when they asked in their petition for the removal of these posts. Four councilmen voted in favor of this motion, and one, Councilman Cadenhead, voted against it.
