Ector Drive Euless, Texas 76039 RE: Euless Charter Revision Dear Mayor and Council Members: We, the members of the Euless Charter Review Committee, present to you and submit for your consideration the proposed revisions to the Euless City Charter approved by the Committee. Language to be deleted from the Charter is contained in brackets [ ] and language to be added is underlined. We also present to you the proposed ballot propositions to enact the Charter revisions. Each proposition states a single issue, as required by law, and no proposition is dependent upon another. The first six propositions reflect changes in public policy deemed by the Committee to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Euless. The seventh ballot proposition is recommended to revise the entire Charter to make the language thereof gender neutral. The remaining nine propositions are recommended to conform the Charter to changes in state or federal law. Please note that the proposed revision to Article II, Section 1, concerning reconstitution of the city council, leaves for the city council's determination the issue of when three-year terms shall be commenced as to council place 1, 3, 5, and 6. It is suggested that the issue be determined by drawing lots and that the results thereof be incorporated into the proposed text to be contained in the ordinance calling the Charter election. 201 N.
