A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS,
TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE POLICE CHIEF AS THE AUTHORIZED
OFFICIAL TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER, OR TERMINATE
THE FISCAL YEAR 2027 GRANT FROM THE MOTOR VEHICLE CRIME
PREVENTION AUTHORITY GRANT PROGRAM AND DESIGNATING A
PROGRAM DIRECTOR AND FINANCIAL OFFICER TO ADMINISTER
THE GRANT.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 1006
and Texas Administrative Code Title 43; Part 3; Chapter 57, entities are eligible to receive
grants from the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority to provide financial support to
law enforcement agencies for economic automobile theft enforcement teams and to
combat motor vehicle burglary in the jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, this grant program will assist this jurisdiction to combat catalytic
converter theft, and
WHEREAS, City of Euless has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the
grant funds, the City of Euless assures that the grant funds will be returned in full to the
Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED THAT THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council of the City of Euless, Texas authorizes the Chief of Police, as the
Authorized Official to apply for, accept, decline, modify, or cancel the grant application for
the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority Grant Program and all other necessary
documents to accept said grant; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that The City Council of the City of Euless, Texas
authorizes Police Captain, as the Program Director and the Director of Finance, is
designated as the Financial Officer for this grant.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on
April 28, 2026, by a vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
