CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 6:00 PM. On
Monday, March, 02, 2026, in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman
Jones. Other Board Members present: John Raab, Steve Doty, Roger Sickler, Barbara Kaytser,
Brenda Dyer and Gabriel Rosas. Members absent: Genesis Reza.
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Duane Strawn, Aquatics/Senior
Superintendent Richard Sharnsky, Recreation Center Supervisor Chance Boyd, PATS General
Manager Chris Thames and Administrative Secretary Jodie Dunn.
Visitors present: Loretta Doty
INVOCATION
Roger Sickler gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the January
05,2026 regular meeting. Roger Sickler made the motion to approve the minutes as presented
and was seconded by John Raab. The vote was unanimous.

Il. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Roger Sickler reported the following for January & February 2026:
a. Total man hours for January lst - 31st = 441
110 Horticulture
79 Forestry
34 Greenhouse
792 Special Projects
26 Training
Christmas trees and provided mulch to citizens. Gave away 3 Red Oak trees to
be planted.
Parks.

Worked in greenhouse potting up Arbor Daze trees from acorns.
Cut down Pine tree behind Veteran's Field that had crown dieback
Picked up branches throughout parks and trials.
Trimmed trees at Parks at Texas Star South.
!ll. Parks and Communitv Services Reports
a. Athletics Report - Chris Thames
a
Soccer season has started. We are at 146 teams up from 138 in the Fall and 132
last spring.
We are at 95 Teams for Baseball. 37 Rec Teams and 58 Select Teams. Allteams for
10 and Under are Full.
With all these teams we are busting at the seams for practice fields.

o The Parks department installed a slab for a new park bench and trash can.
o The columns were rocked at the Dog Park and painted.
o The mulch was replaced at J.A. Carr Park.
c Recreation Report - Chance Bovd
o Like Combs Tribute Band will be the Concert in the Park on Saturday, March L4,
2026 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Glade Parks.
o A Minecraft Movie will be the Movie playing for Movies in the Park. This will take
place on Friday, March 20,2026 at Sundown at Glade Parks.
o The Euless Trash Off willtake place on April 1.1,2026 starting at 10:00am. This will
start at the Euless Family Life Center and then will move on to various parks.
o Arbor Daze is Back I I This will take place on April 25, 2026 from 10:00am - 9:00pm
at Glade Parks. Back in Black an AC/DC Tribute band will be the headliner starting
at 7:00pm followed by a drone show from Sky Elements.
d. Directors Report - Duane Strawn
Park Board attendance is very important. A calendar of events was handed out and
each Park Board member is encouraged and invited to attend all events.
South Euless Park is heavy in the design process. This project will go out to bid
soon and then to Council. We are hoping for a construction kick off on May 23,
2026.
The project for Kiddie Carr and the Sports Plaza are 50%in the design plans.
Chairman Jones thanked the staff for their reports.
