CATI TO ORDER
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Duane Strawn, Assistant Parks
and Community Service Director Elizabeth Johnson, Recreation Center Supervisor Chance Boyd,
Parks Manager Randy Leach and Administrative Secretary Jodie Dunn.
Visitors present: Loretta Doty

Randy Jones gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the March
02,2026 regular meeting. Steve Doty made the motion to approve the minutes as presented and
was seconded by Gabriel Rosas. The vote was unanimous.

Parks and Leisure Services Board
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 6:01 PM. On
Monday, April 06, 2026, in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman
Jones. Other Board Members present: Steve Doty, Barbara Kaytser, Brenda Dyer, Genesis Reza,
and Gabriel Rosas. Members absent: John Raab and Roger Sickler.

Tree Board Vice Chairman Gabriel Rosas reported the following for March 1- 31, 2026):
a. Total man hours for March 1$ - 31* = 661
o 181.5 Horticulture
o 247.5 Forestry
o 48 Greenhouse
o L52 Special Projects

D Trimmed trees around Preserve Ponds East and West
F Removed tree branches from Trailwood Park
F Replanted Chinese Pistache at Fire Station #2

a. Special Events Report - Chance Bo d and Elizabeth Maddox
Euless Trash Off - April IL,2026 starting at 10:00 AM. This will take place at
various park locations. Everyone will meet at the Euless Family Life Center and
Park assignments and supplies will be distributed.
Arbor Daze - April 25, 2026 from 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM in the parking lot of Glade
Parks. This event is the largest event that we put on each year. A few of the things
that will be on site are many food vendors, art vendors, carnival rides, The Canine
Stars, XPogo, Repercussion, Vocalocity and the headliner will be Back in Black and
AC/DC Tribute Band. We will also be handing out Trees that are grown by our very
own Parks Department. The finale of the day will be a Drone Show brought to us
by Sky Elements. We would like to Thank all of our Sponsors who are a vital part in
helping us plan this event.
o There will be a public meeting at City Hall on April 16, 2026.
r The South Euless Park Project is out to bid and will be going to council for approval
on April 28, 2026. This project is set to being on May 23,2026.
o The Kiddie Carr project as well as the Batting Cage Design are both 50% complete in
the design phase.
. An invitation was given to all Park Board members to come to Arbor Daze and help
judge the food eating contest, volunteer, or just see what we do!
