Regular Meeting
Euless City Council
January 27, 1959
The City Council met in regular session on
January 27, 1959. Present were Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr. , Councilmen S. H.
Cadenhead, Paul Horton, Bobby Fuller, W. 0. Murray, and Albert Tillery.
Appearing before the City Council were the
following visitors: Messrs. P. A. Koen, J . G. Humphrey, John Hill , Warren
Fuller, J . A. Horton, and B. M. Randall .

Mr. P. A. Koen, representing the Great South-
west Investment Company, developers of the Oak Crest Estates, submitted to the
City Council final plat and street dedications with five copies and a sepia of the
Oak Crest Estates. A motion was mde by Councilman Fuller, and seconded by
Councilman Cadenhead, that this final plat of Oak Crest Estates and street
dedications be approved. The vote in favor was unanimous.

Mr. P. A. Koen discussed with the City
Council , the issuing of building permits in the Oak Crest Estates. He was informed
that these building permits could be obtained by any one of these methods:
by paving the streets before asking for building permits; by furnishing the
City with a Performance Bond; by putting up the money in escrow with the City on
streets as they asked for building permits. The amount would be the actual cost
of the paving of the full width of the street where they asked for the building
permits.

Mr. J. G. Humphrey, representing the Johnson-
Campbell Lumber Company, submitted to the City Council revised plat of the Park
Crestmoor Addition to Euless. A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and
seconded by Councilman Murray, that this preliminary revised plat be given
tentative approval subject to minor changes. They are to make the necessary
changes and submit a final plat with five copies and a sepia and street dedications.
The vote in favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Horton, and
seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, to approve and adopt Ordinance No. 108.
Ordinance No. 108 will close and abandon a certain five foot tuility easement
lying along the north line of Tract 24, Alexander-Cullum Subdivision, a part of
the A. A. Fuller original eighty acre tract out of the A. J. Howard Survey,
Abstract No. 709, in the City of Euless, Tarrant County, Texas. The vote in
favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Fuller,
and seconded by Councilman Murray, that the duties of Dog Warden Earl Stapleton
and the Police Deparment also include patrolling the streets of Euless to pick
up any dogs running loose, and to pick up any dead animals. They are to receive
fifty cents (50e) for each dog caught and impounded and for each dead animal
picked up. The vote in favor was unanimous.
6.
A motion was made by Councilman Horton,
and seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, to hire the firm of Weaver & Tidwell ,
Certified Public Accountants of Fort Worth, to audit the City' s books during
March. They have estimated the cost of this audit to be from $300.00 to
$350.00. The vote in favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Murray,
and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that the jail roof be repaired to stop
moisture from condensing and dropping down from the roof inside the jail . The
City Council suggested that Mr. Tillery contact an Arlington roofing contractor
and see what it would cost to put two inches of rigid insulation on top of the
old roof and then put on a built up roof over this insulation. The vote in
favor was unanimous.
The meeting adjourned at 11 :00 p.m.
