He asked for the new job in the wake of the district attorney's investigation into complaints accusing city officials — in- cluding Fuller — of improperly handling open records requests by the Euless Peace Officers Association. Fuller had also been 1411 involved in a dispute with the association over whether his treatment of officers was evenhanded. The association got its records and a new chief. Fuller had said that it was Hart who neglected the request for information, made by the Euless Peace Officers Associa- tion. In a statement read by Mayor Mary Lib Saleh last night,the council said it does not believe that there is evidence suggesting that Hart or Fuller did anything illegal or improper. According to the statement, however, some council members do not believe that the former police chiefs re- moval was"handled in a manner befitting an I8-year employee of the city."
