HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-05-08I I I Called Meeting Euless City Council May 8, 1959 A special called meeting of the Euless City Council was held on May 8, 1959. Present were Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr., Councilmen Paul Horton, Bobby Fuller, Ross Ferris, and Lee Roy Nix. The Council meeting was opened with a prayer by M r. J. S. Anderson. A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and seconded by Councilman Nix, to approve Resolution No. 21, certifying the results of the City Election of May 2, 1959, as canvassed by the Mayor in the presence of the City Council, and that the said results are as follows: For Councilman Albert J. Harvey 10 votes Edward M. Colley 51 votes J. S. Anderson 76 votes Therefore, be it resolved, that the canvass of the results of said election be and is hereby approved that J. S. Anderson, having received the highest number of votes for the office of Councilman is hereby declared elected to said office of Councilman for the unexpired term of A. E. Tillery to April 1, 1960, or until his successor is duly elected and qualified. The vote in favor was unanimous. 0 The Oathof Office was administered to Mr. J. S. Anderson by Mayor Millican, and notarized by Corporation Court Judge Jimmy C. Payton. 4 Mr. John Hill of Humphrey & Hill, Professional Engineers, appeared before the City Council to submit a replat of part of the Park Crestmoor Addition to the City of Euless. A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and seconded by Councilman Horton, that this replat be approved. The vote in favor was unanimous. 5. A motion was made by Councilman Horton, and seconded by Councilman Nix, to approve the request of Mr. Ben Reaves to extend existing 20 feet of 30'' concrete pipe to 40 feet by adding 20 feet on the south II (Page Two, Called Meeting, Euless City Council, May 8, 1959) end of the existing driveway located 0.2 mile south of the intersection of State Highway 183 and FM Highway 157 on the west side of FM157 in the City' of Euless. The vote in favor was unanimous. 6. A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and seconded by Councilman Horton, to approve the request of Ross W. Smith to reshape the backslope on the east side of FM157 adjoining his property which is located on the southeast quadrant of the intersection of Highway 183 and FM157. This request having been previously approved by the Highway Department. The vote in favor was unanimous. 7• ATTEST: /s/ W. E. It was suggested that Mr. Wright he contacted and asked to appear before the City Counci 1 . 8. A motion was made by Councilman Anderson, and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that the City of Euless write a letter to Chief of Police C. F. Hansson of the Dallas Police Department expressing their appreciation for permitting a Euless Police Officer to attend their Police School. The vote in favor was unanimous. ATTEST: /s/ W. E.
