Present were Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr., Councilmen Paul Horton, Bobby Fuller, J. S. Anderson, Ross Ferris and Lee Roy Nix. prayer by Councilman Anderson. 1. The Council meeting was opened with a 2. Mr. Frankie Wright appeared before the City Council to discuss his operation of a second hand truck parts business, handling tires, wheels, axles, and trailers at his residence on Highway 183 within the city limits of Euless. Mr. Wright was told that this was in violation of city Ordinance No. 33 on zoning to operate this type of business without a special permit from the City Council. A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and seconded by Councilman Anderson, that this matter would be tabled for thirty days pending the outcome of Mr. Wright's promised clean- up campaign. The vote i n favor was unanimous. 3. Mr. Ross W. Smith and Mr. Herbert S. Bonney, Jr appeared before the City Council to discuss the type of commercial zoning on their property extending south from the southeast corner of the intersection of FM157 and Highway 183. They requested that the widest possible latitude of zoning be given them on this property. They stated that they were only interested i n commercial and industrial usage of this property, and that to attract industries to move into this area it is highly essential that they be given the widest possible latitude permissable under our zoning ordinance. The City Council assured Mr. Smith and Mr. Bonney that they would certainly try to cooperate with them insofar as it was possible within the frame -work of the city zoning ordinance. 4. Chief of Police W. M. Sustaire appeared before the City Council requesting permission to use the new fire truck and the police patrol car in a parade Thursday afternoon, May 14, 1959. This parade is an effort to arouse public support to help buy equipment for the ten teams Euless has in the Euless Independent Baseball League. A motion was made by Councilman Horton, and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that this request be approved. A motion was made by Councilman Anderson, and seconded by Councilman Fuller, that City Attorney W, L. Bondurant contact the proper officials of the City of Fort Worth and discuss the possibility of working out an agreeable plan to exchange lots along the Euless /Fort Worth city limit line running north to south through Oak Crest Estates, and also discuss with them if they would be interested in exchanging land south of Pipeline Road to the railroad for the land they need north of the Amon Carter Airport.
