Hello Betsy,
In response to your questions,
1. The onboard interview survey was conducted in 2014. It was a regional transit travel survey that covered 196 buses
and rail lines from Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T), Denton County
Transportation Authority(DCTA), and Trinity Railway Express(TRE). A 10%sample was collected of all included bus
routes and rail lines; this amounted to 35,640 weekday questionnaires collected. For each included bus route and
rail line, the interview survey was conducted on the full length of the route/line during all times of day. For the
survey collection on the TRE, 1,100 weekday questionnaires were collected in total from the ten stations.
I will be sending you a link from our ftp site to download a copy of the final report from the 2014 North Central
Texas Transit Travel Survey.
2. There are 84 records that have addresses located in the 76040 zip code. In the USPS database, these were all
associated with Euless, even though there are multiple cities which use the 76040 zip code. NCTCOG conducted an
analysis, which is described on page 10 of the 2014 TRINITY RAILWAY EXPRESS LICENSE PLATE STUDY, to determine
which city each of these records were associated with Of these 84 records, 39 were found to be in the city of Euless,
and the remaining 45 were in the city of Fort Worth.
We apologize that we cannot provide the personally identifiable data from the survey due to the confidentiality of
the survey. We can provide our survey data that does not personally identify people; this incudes time, day,
station, license plate, registration city, registration zip code, and geocoded city used for the final analysis. In
addition, we can conduct any analysis that you would like on the raw data. If this still does not satisfy your needs,
then we can discuss further options.
3. Based on the 2014 Transit Travel Survey, almost all vehicles that parked at Hurst/Bell and Centreport Stations have
used the TRE. Of the routes you asked about, our onboard survey included T Route 111 (Bell Helicopter), T Route 30
(Centrepoint Circulator), and DART 221 (MAX), but did not include any DFW-Centrepoint shuttles.
The total number of parked vehicles at Hurst/Bell is 450, of this 441 are geocodable. In the 2014 Transit Travel
Survey,we had 18 questionnaires from The T Route 111 (Bell Helicopter to Hurst/Bell)which represents a ridership
of 65. While all 18 of these used drive access or drive egress, none boarded or alighted at Hurst/Bell Station.

The total number of parked vehicles at Centrepoint is 837,of this, 708 are geocodable. In the 2014 Transit Travel
Survey,we had 52 questionnaires of The T Route 30 (Centrepoint Circulator)which represents the ridership of
262. While 41 of the 52 of used drive access or drive egress, only 2 used Route 30 without using the TRE and parked
or were dropped off/picked up at Centreport;these 2 questionnaires represent 10 riders and less than 4%of the
Route 30 ridership. Also, those 2 questionnaires had home addresses in Fort Worth.
In the Transit Travel Survey, we had 56 surveys of DART 221 (MAX)which represents the ridership of 279. While 18
of the 56 of used drive access or drive egress, only 6 used Route 221 without using the TRE and parked or were
1
dropped off/picked up at Centreport; these 6 questionnaires represent 35 riders. Only 1 of those 6 people had a
home address in Euless, and the other 5 were in Dallas, Plano, and Fort Worth. Since the riders parking at the TRE
stations from these other routes was so small,we did not consider them when calculating city shares.
I hope this information is helpful to you.
Thank you.

I would like to see more detail about the 2014 onboard interview survey that is briefly mentioned in the accuracy
section of the results. When was that conducted? How many people were interviewed? Did it span the entire length of
the TRE or just at certain stations?
I would like to conduct our own analysis of the 76040 license plates. Do you have the addresses or datasets that you
could send me?
Also, a few of the parking lots are used for a variety of transportation services. What efforts were made to determine
which license plates were for Trinity Railway Express and which ones were utilizing other modes of transportation such
as MAX, CentrePort Circulator or the DFW-TRE Shuttle or employees that work at Bell Helicopter.
Thank you!
