Called Meeting
Euless City Council
August 4, 1959
A special called meeting of the Euless City
Council was held on August 4, 1959. Present were Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr.,
Councilmen Paul Horton, Bobby Fuller, Ross Ferris, Lee Roy Nix, and J. S.
Anderson.

Mr. Hunphrey of Humphrey & Hill, Professional
Engineers, and M r . B i l l Turner of S. R. 0. Asphalt Company, appeared before
the City Council to explain about the cutting of Huffman Drive to secure proper
drainage in the Park Crestmoor Addition. They assured the City - Council that
this street would be repaired properly and the cut would be feathered back
far enough so that there would be no sharp dip in it. Mr. Humphrey said they
would send the City a profile of the way this would look when completed.

Mr. Royce Wisenbaker, president of the
Wisenbaker & Fix Company, owners of the Municipal Service Company, serving
Euless and Bedford with water and sewage services. He stated that their water
tank and office was located in the city limits of Bedford, which served both
cities and their sewage plant is located south of Euless about three miles,
which serves both cities, as well as helping the overloaded Hurst system at
times. He stated that they were figuring a contract now with Hurst on how
to handle all of their demands for future growth and that this would necessitate
building a complete new sewage treating plant at a cost of about $300,000.00
to serve the three cities. He said the City of Hurst paid them $807,000.00
for the Hurst water and sewer system.
A motion was made by Councilman Anderson
and seconded by Councilman Ferris, that the Council defer considering the
purchase of the water and sewer system at this time. The vote i n favor was
unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Anderson,
and seconded by Councilman Ferris, that the name of Neeley Huffman Drive be
changed to Vine Street, as there i s only a slight off -set where it crosses
Highway 183. The vote i n favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and
seconded by Councilman Nix, to change the name of Winsborough Lane i n the Oak
Crest Estates to Alexander Lane, as Winsborough Lane i s a continuation of
Alexander Lane coming out of Alexander - Cullum Addition, with only a slight
off -set. The vote i n favor of the motion was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Fuller,
and seconded by Councilman Nix, to change of warns of Crestmoor Drive to
Sheppard Drive as Crestmoor Drive coming of the Park Crestmoor Addition is
only a slight off -set to Sheppard Drive in the Sheppard Addition. The
vote in favor was unanimous.
