Called Meeting
Euless City Council
September 14, 1959
A special called meeting of the Euless City
Council was held on September 14, 1959. Present were Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr.,
Councilmen Paul Horton, Bobby Fuller, Ross Ferris and J. S. Anderson.

Mr. Harlen Joyce appeared before the City
Council in connection with the Trendex Construction Company violation of City
Ordinance Numbers 28 and 33 - building a garage and two car ports too close
to the property lines in the Oakwood Terrace West Addition.
2.
The City Secretary was instructed to write
to Trendex Construction Company of their decision with reference to this
ordinance violation.
3.
A motion was mach by Councilman Horton, and
seconded by Councilman Fuller, that the request of the Mi -d -Tex Development
Company to build and operate a fi I I i n g station on a tract of land leased
from George R. Oxford at the intersection of Highway 183 and Pipeline Road
be approved on the following basis: That they be given a permit to build and
operate a fi I I i n g station at this location for .one year, to be renewed each
year at the discretion of the City Council. They are to build a small metal
building and to have one overhead gasoline tank for storage. The driveways
must be hard surfaced. All Councilmen present voted in favor of this motion.

A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and
seconded by Councilman Ferris, that the City Secretary sign a contract with the
Burroughs Adding Machine Company for one year's maintenance on our adding
machine at a cost f o $20.80. Al l Councilmen present voted i n favor of t h i s
motion.
5.
Mayor Millican reported to the Council that
he had asked Chief of Police Sustaire to make a study of the traffic hazards
at the intersection of Highway 183 and Main Street and to furnish the City
Council with his recommendations to alleviate this condition as much as possible.

motion was made by
Councilman Ferris, and
seconded
by Councilman Anderson, that
they be permitted
to leave the garage
as it is,
but they must move the two
car ports so that
no part of the car

this motion.

The City Council discussed the water shortage
in the Cresthaven Addition. It was suggested that to assure the residents
of this area an adequate water supply it might be necessary for the City
Council to take further action in this matter.
