HomeMy WebLinkAbout157 11-14-1961ORDINANCE NO. 157 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ELECTRICAL ORDINANCE NO. 122, SECTION V, SUB - SECTIONS 14 AND 15; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas: I. That Electrical Ordinance No. 122, Section V, Sub - Sections, 14 and 15, pertaining to electrical wiring requirements be amended to read as follows: 1114. For residential wiring, not more than eight (8) hot openings shall be installed on one 15- ampere cir- cuit. An appliance circuit must be installed in all new work. There shall be at least one base receptacle, but not more than four on a circuit of No. 12 wire. The appliance circuit load shall not exceed a 1350 -watt load. A grounded appliance plug will be used on all appliance circuits. "15. No service or meter switch shall be wired with less than No. 6 PC copper wire. All service entrance wire shall be not less than No. 6 PC copper wire. All services or entrance switches installed shall otherwise comply with the National Electrical Code. Any residence of 1,000 or more square foot area shall have 100- ampere main entrance. Where a ground clearance of 10 feet or more is required to obtain electrical service, a service mast of 2 -inch galvanized pipe will be used, thereby eliminating the necessity for angle iron bracing. Where a service mast is not required to obtain electrical service, electrical entrance cable shall be encased in conduit. The electrical company will furnish 2 -inch meter sockets for all service outlets. All conduit connectors shall be of fibre or plastic composition." II.
