Euless City Council
February 9, 1960
The regular meeting of the Euless City
Council was held on February 9, 1960. Present were Mayor Ernest Millican, Jr.,
Councilmen Paul Horton, Bobby Fuller, Ross Ferris, and J. S. Anderson.

The Council meeting was oepned with a prayer
1.
A motion was made by Councilman Ferris, and
seconded by Councilman Horton, that the mintues of the council meeting of
January 26, 1960, read by the City Secretary, be approved. All Council present
voted in favor of this motion.
2.
The City Council discussed the proposal made
by Mc W. E. Smith of the School Tax Office, to prepare the 1960 tax rolls for
the City of Euless for $2640. A motion was made by Councilman Ferris, and
seconded by Councilman Fuller, that as it is not feasible for the City of Euless
to enter the Hurst - Euless School tax set -up this year, that MC Smith's proposal
be rejected, and that w write them asking them to give us a price on each of
the following: a price on exactly what they gave us last year; what they would
charge us to let us copy their field cards on the new houses they have measured
in the Euless city limits for their 1960 tax rolls. All Councilmen present
voted in favor of this motion.

A motion was made by Councilman Horton, and

on April 5, 1960, to elect three Councilmen be approved, and the following
persons are hereby appointed Judges thereof, to wit:

Mrs. Al liene Landers, Clerk
Mts. Martha Milting, Clerk
All Councilmen present voted in favor of this motion.

The City Council discussed the proposed
plumbing and electrical ordinances being prepared. It was decided that we
wouTd try to get these completed by the next regular council meeting.

The City Council discussed the progress being
made on taking a census of the population with the Euless city limits. Council-
man Anderson reported that he had completed his part, taking in everything
west of FM157. The other Councilmen and the Police Department reported they
were still working on their part.

The Police Department reported that their
black 1959 patrol car was in bad shape, it has approximately 65000 miles on it.
They submitted the following bids on trading this car - Bob Cooke, Inc. a
Police Fordor Interceptor $1195.00 and the old car; Stolz Motors, Inc,
a Police Fordor Interceptor $1048.37. These bids are on 1960 Fords with
exactly the same equipment on them. From Luke Pontiac Company, Police
Enforcer Fordor $1713.56. A motion was made by Councilman Anderson, and
seconded by Councilman Ferris, that the old car be traded off, but suggested

A motion was made by Councilman Anderson,
and seconded by Councilman Fuller, to authorize the Building Commissioner to
purchase two four tube, eight foot flourescent light fixtures with tubes.
One is to be installed in the Police Department Office, and the other one to
be installed in the City Secretary's Office. All Councilmen present voted in
favor of this motion.
12.
Councilman Anderson, Street Commissioner,
reported that the Texas Bitulithic Company has agreed to repair the streets
in Mdway Park just•ias soon as the weather gets warm.
13.
A motion was made by Councilman Horton, and
seconded by Councilman Ferris, that inasmuch as the streets in the Euless part
of Oak Crest Estates Addition have been completed and accepted by the City of
Euless, that vie release the Performance Bond issued by the Tri -State Insurance
Company covering the construction of these streets. All Councilmen present
voted in favor of this motion.
14.
A motion was made by Councilman Ferris,
and seconded by Councilman Horton to adjourn at 9:40 p.m. All Councilmen
present voted in favor of this motion.
