AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 30 "FEES" OF THE
EULESS CODE OF ORDINANCES, AS AMENDED;
PROVIDING REVISED FEES FOR BUILDING PERMITS,
CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION AND RE- INSPECTIONS;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 30 of the Euless Code of Ordinances contains fees for various
functions performed the city, including fees for contractor registration, re- inspections and
building permit fees; and
WHEREAS, changed economic conditions and costs of labor necessitate raising
the fees for contractor registration, re- inspections and related fees and fees for building
permits; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, finds and determines that
the updated fees provided for herein will adequately cover the cost to the city of providing
the services represented by those fees and necessitated by the activities required in order
to issue the permits for which these fees are charged.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, TEXAS:
SECTION I
THAT Section 30 -5 "Building, Mechanical and Plumbing Registration Fees ", as
contained in Chapter 30 "FEES" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Euless, Texas,
as amended, be redesignated as Section 30 -5 "Contractor Fees" to hereafter read as
follows:
Sec. 30 -5. Contractor Fees.
(A) A contractor registration fee shall be paid in addition to other provisions provided in
chapter 14. The fee for all contractors establishing registration data shall be $75.00
annually. (Jan 1 thru Dec. 31)
(B) Re- inspection or after hours or other related fees.
Building re- inspection per hour......... $47.00
Building after hours (2 hour min.) ......... 94.00
Plumbing re- inspection per hour ..........47.00
Plumbing after hours (2 hour min) ........94.00

SECTION II
THAT Section 30 -7 "Electrical Contractors License ", Section 30 -8 "Master
Electrician's License" and Section 30 -9 "Apprentice Electrician's License" be repealed
in their entirety:

SECTION III
THAT Section 30 -11 "Fences, Administration ", be amended to read as follows:

Fence permit fee schedule is based on the cost of construction.

square foot, and multifamily is based on $96.00 per square foot.

SECTION V
Severability Clause. That it is hereby declared to be the intention of the City
Council that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance
are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this ordinance
shall be declared invalid or unconstitutional by the valid judgment or decree of any court
of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the
remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since
the same would have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation in this

ordinance of any such invalid or unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or
section.
SECTION VI
Saving Clause. That Chapter 30 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Euless, Texas,
as amended, shall remain in full force and effect, save and except as amended by this
ordinance.
SECTION VII
Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and publication as provided by the Euless City Charter and the laws of the State
of Texas.
PRESENTED AND GIVEN FIRST READING AND FINAL READING at a regylar
meeting of the Euless City Council on the 31s' day of August, 2004, by a vote of
ayes, 0 nays and 0 abstentions.
