PRESENTATION Weldon Cannon gave a very informative and interesting presentation titled "Euless:A Miracle of Survival: Mr. Cannon noted that before 1953, Euless could have become known by any one of the following names: Birds Fort, Camp Worth, Bear Creek, Minters Chapel, Union or even Trigg. Woodlawn, East Bedford, Estelle, Enless and Tarrant were also among the list of possible names this area could have become known by in the course of its history. World changes such as the growth of the automobile industry brought the highway through Euless encouraging businesses such as dairying, the nursery business, the Airport, etc. Such factors contributed to the survival of the town. In the 50's Euless incorporated and then dis-incorporated almost immediately afterwards. As a result, the larger surrounding cities annexed large parts of the town but Euless re-incorporated in 1953 thus assuring its survival to become what we know today as the City of Euless. Primarily, the town's location and other world developments worked in its favor and helped Page 1 its survival.
