Library Digital Services Update:
Sherry Knight provided a demonstration of two new digital library services. 1) Hoopla streaming media,
movies, and music. Patrons may stream these items on their mobile devices or smart TVs. There are no holds,
as simultaneous checkout is allowed. At launch, patrons will be able to check out 5 Hoopla items per month;
this number may be increased as we monitor usage. 2) HelpNow live homework help and education resources.
Little Free Libraries Update:
Sherry Knight reported on background information on Little Free Libraries and their purpose in promoting
literacy. Allan Gibbs commented on the Little Free Library nearby in Bedford as an example, and encouraged
the board members to drive by and observe it. Allan will install a Little Free Library in his yard, as a joint
project between the library and the Rotary Club. Discussion followed regarding other future locations for Little
Free Libraries and other community partners who might be brought in to this project.
